If you a purchasing outside of Toronto, you will be responsible for the Ontario Land Transfer Tax when you purchase your home. If you are a first time buyer, this amount will be reduced by maximum of $4000.00 on closing.
If you a purchasing inside Toronto, you will be responsible for Toronto’s Municipal Land Transfer Tax as well as the Ontario Land Transfer Tax when you purchase your home. If you are a first time buyer, Toronto’s Municipal Land Transfer Tax will be reduced by a maximum of $3,725.00 and the Ontario Land Transfer Tax will be reduced by maximum of $4000.00 on closing.
